The RPA Human(e) AI is pleased to announce the new research projects that have been granted seed funding following the 2020 Call for Applications. After a successful year with the first seed funded teams, four research groups will now be joining our expanding community. Stemming from 5 different countries and 5 faculties at the UvA, the 12 new researchers bring innovative ideas, rich academic experience and their different disciplinary perspectives to the table. Together, they will address current and prospective societal challenges of artificial intelligence, from conversational agents to automated decision making, and from empirical to normative research and suggestions of how to improve transparency and accountability. The RPA thereby confirms its commitment to build a network of researchers across all faculties of the UvA that together work towards more humane AI
